If there was ever any doubt about the intelligence of former president Jimmy Carter, it was dispelled when he praised Hamas' participation in the Palestinian Elections. After the terrorist organization won the majority in the election, Carter spent the day shilling for the new Palestinian government. Not only does Carter want the world to recognize the mass murderers as legitimate members of the international community, but he wants the US and the EU to fund it...
"Regardless of the government, I would hope that potential donors find alternative means to be generous to the Palestinian people [even] if the donor decides to bypass the Palestinian government completely."
Carter then goes on to say "The Palestinian Government is destitute and in desperate financial straits. I hope that support for the new government will be forthcoming."
Well Mr Carter, excuse me if I don't give a rat's ass about the destitute Palestinian terrorist government. If they had not spent all the money on killing innocent Israelis (and some innocent Americans), they would not be so cash-poor. We don't offer aid to terrorist organizations - why should Hamas be any different?
While Carter was making his sales pitch for Hamas, one of the most popular candidates from the Hamas wing was giving interviews. Mariam Farahat won a seat in the Palestinian parliament. She said today that violence is still an option. Farahat actually laid out the Hamas strategy - work two parallel lines - the political and the jihadist.
Mariam Farahat is not just your average Palestinian. She is called "Um Nidal"-which means Mother of the Struggle. Three of her six sons killed innocent Israelis with Farahat's blessings. According to ABC News, she "appeared in a Hamas video showing her 17 year old how to attack Israelis and telling him not to return." This son killed five students in a Jewish settlement went he detonated his suicide bomb.
This new member of Parliament said "we consider it holy duty. Our land is occupied. You take all the means to banish the occupier. I sacrificed my children for this holy, patriotic duty."
So while Jimmy Carter smiles and praises the fair elections in Palestine, Farahat says that "violence is still an option". Her remaining sons will "follow in their brothers' footsteps, if necessary." Meanwhile, Carter is expressing hope that "as Hamas assumes a major role in the next government, whatever that might be, it will take a position on international standards of responsibility." I wouldn't hold my breath Jimmy - a leopard cannot change its spots... The lives of innocent Israelis hangs on that slim hope. The blood of the innocents will be on Jimmy's peace-keeping hands.
NOTE: The article for ABC News made an incredibly stupid statement: "Destroying Israel is not something Hamas has promoted much during the election campaign." The fact that Hamas promoted it at all is the problem...

He was always incompetent. Libertards harp on Bush? Bush actually fights for his country and protects us. Carter needs to learn the difference between freedom and ignorance.
Good post.
