Stop Torturing with Food - It's Inhumane!

The NY Slimes reports today that the United States is once again torturing those poor innocent souls at Gitmo. Is it withholding of the mid-afternoon snack? Or could it be the dreaded 50 lashes with a wet noodle? No - it's much worse than that. This damn those evil military guards are force feeding the terrorists that are on a hunger strike.

According to slimeball lawyers for Gitmo detainees, "It is clear that the government has ended the hunger strike through the use of force and through the most brutal and inhumane types of treatment." The oh so ethical lawyers said "It is a disgrace."

The World Medical Association opposes "the involuntary feeding of hunger strikers as coercive." The Slimes reports terrorists "screaming in pain"while tubes are shoved down their noses and "removed so violently that some bled or fainted." Some terrorists say that an additive is placed in the tube feedings to give them diarrhea.

Well excuse me if I don't sit here and cry my blue eyes out for these poor fellas. Bleeding nostrils and diarrhea are nothing when compared to beheading or death by suicide bomb. For those that think me heartless, let me give you some facts gleaned from 24 years as a practicing RN. Tubes inserted in the nostrils are NOT comfortable. Most people do have some bleeding as it is traumatic to the vascular nasal tissue. One of the side effects of tube feedings can be diarrhea, especially when first starting the tube feedings. Most people do try to fight the insertion of the nasal feeding tubes - it's an instinctive reaction. Restraints are sometimes necessary to prevent any further damage to the nostrils or gastrointestinal tract.

I personally think that we should let the terrorists commit suicide by starvation. If that is their own personal jihad, then so be it. Is it any differant than Oregan's euthanesia law? Why should we worry about protecting their health and preserving their life? Do you think that if these terrorists were released they would worry about protecting OUR health and preserving OUR life. Not a chance.

I say show them the same mercy that was showed to Terri Schindler Schiavo. Remember the media told us that death by starvation and dehydration was painless. Why should the terrorists at Gitmo receive any better treatment?

Another little tidbit: Once again the Slimes uses "military officials, who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the question". Then WHY are they discussing it with the media?
