Now we have Rep. Murtha - the sickening excuse for a former Marine - claiming our soldiers in Iraq are guilty of another "My Lai" massacre. Here's part of his statement from Hardball with Blowhard Matthews... (courtesy of Newsbusters)
MATTHEWS: Draw us a picture of what happened in Haditha.
MURTHA: Well I'll tell you exactly what happened. One Marine was killed and the Marines just said we're gonna take care...we don't know who the enemy is, the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and actually killed civilians and...I...
MATTHEWS: Was this My Lai? When you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you're basically saying you've got some civilians sitting in a room or out in a field and they're executed on purpose...
MURTHA: That's exactly what happened.
MATTHEWS: ...not because any of the Marines are scared or anybody is scared...
MURTHA: ...this was not an action...this was not...first they tried to say it was an IED, there was no IED involved in this. This was troops, they were so stressed out, they went into houses and killed children, women and children. 24 people they killed. Now this is the kind of stress they are under. Listen, I don't excuse it, but I understand what's happening and the responsibility goes right to the top. This is something that should not have happened, that should have been investigated, they've already relieved three commanding officers...but this is the kind of stuff...stress is going to cause these kind of things. That's why I'm so upset about it.
This is the most disgusting pile of manure that I have ever heard. HOW DARE HE MAKE SUCH CLAIMS! Was he there? The military is investigating the incident. Any reports should come from the military. Not some washed up old coot who can't stand being out of the spotlight and who has such a severe case of Bush Derangement Syndrome that he should be locked up.
But... I forgot. Murtha is a member of Code Pink. Remember this....
Now CodePink has taken it upon themselves to publish anti-American ads in Iraqi newspapers. According to the press release on TruthOut (you know the one whose motto is "we keep the truth out of our reports")...
"The ad calls on Americans and Iraqis to work together to stop the bloodshed and bring the US troops home. "We have seen in poll after poll that the majority of Americans and Iraqis want the US troops to return home. Even the majority of US troops (72%) think they should return by the end of this year. It is time for the politicians in both countries to listen to us, the people," the ad says. The ad is linked to a website, in Arabic, where Iraqis can sign a petition and communicate directly with Americans, either by internet or through the mail. "
This is the same organization that promotes Mother "Moonbat" Sheehan. This is the same organization that participated in and sponsored the World Tribunal on Iraq which supported the "freedom fighters" in Iraq. This is the same organization that paid $600,000 to the "other side in Fallujah".
Both Murtha and Code Pink are flat out guilty of treason. They deserve to be treated as the traitors they are. Instead the media worships at their feet and touts their message at every opportunity. There is nothing more vile or contemptable than Americans supporting terrorists. The government needs to quit with the "tolerance" and put these dirtbags in the pokey. Our soldiers deserve so much better. So does our country.
