Imams, Laptops with Nuclear Info and Terrorism

I didn't pay too much attention to the story about the 6 Imams removed from the US Airways flight this week until I read Ann Coulter's latest column. (Which is a classic). The Imams were headed for Phoenix after attending an "Imam conference" in Minneapolis. No checked baggage, one way tickets and chanting prayers with "Allah, Allah" in the terminal is more than enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. As Ann said...

"Witnesses said the imams stood to do their evening prayers in the terminal before boarding, chanting "Allah, Allah, Allah" -- coincidentally, the last words heard by hundreds of airline passengers on 9/11 before they died.
Witnesses also said that the imams were talking about Saddam Hussein, and denouncing America and the war in Iraq. About the only scary preflight ritual the imams didn't perform was the signing of last wills and testaments.
"

But factor in the history of one of the Imams, Omar Shahin, and his connection to an organization whose funds were frozen for connections to Hamas...

"Muslim Voice Staff When the Tsunami disaster struck Muslim families in south East Asia, the students of Arizona Culture Academy answered the call and rushed to help. They emptied their piggy banks, brought their allowances, and lobbied their families to participate. In five days, $8,014.00 was collected and given to the Representative Imam Omar Shahin of the Kind Hearts Organization."

From the Treasury Dept...
"KindHearts is the progeny of Holy Land Foundation and Global Relief Foundation, which attempted to mask their support for terrorism behind the façade of charitable giving," said Stuart Levey, Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. "By utilizing this specialized designation tool, we're able to prevent asset flight in support of terrorist activities while we further investigate the activities of KindHearts."

Multiply that info with this tidbit from an article in the Arizona Republic on Sept 28, 2001...

"Arizona appears to have been the home of a "sleeper cell" of Osama bin Laden's worldwide terrorist organization, with a select group of operatives living quietly in bland apartment complexes and obtaining flight training in preparation for the Sept. 11 attacks.
The organization's known history in the state goes back nine years and scholars say the activities of at least three part-time Arizona residents fits the pattern of the al-Qaeda terrorist group.
Omar Shahin of the Tucson Islamic Center said members of the Tucson mosque may have helped bin Laden in the early 1990s, when he was fighting against the Russians. But that was during the Cold War when U.S. intelligence agencies were encouraging support for bin Laden.
"They (the CIA) called him a 'freedom fighter,'" Sahin said. "Then they tell us he is involved in terrorist acts, and they stopped supporting him, and we stopped."

Then factor in the unemployed man with $78K and a laptop full of nuclear/chemical weapons info headed to PHOENIX when he was taken into custody...

"A man was arrested at Detroit Metropolitan Airport after officials say they found him carrying more than $78,000 in cash and a laptop computer containing information about nuclear materials and cyanide.
Sisayehiticha Dinssa, an unemployed U.S. citizen, was arrested Tuesday after a dog caught the scent of narcotics on cash he was carrying, according to an affidavit filed in court.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Leonid Feller argued Dinssa was a potential risk to the community and federal agents want to get a warrant to search his computer more thoroughly, The Detroit News reported Thursday. U.S. Magistrate Donald Scheer approved Feller's request to detain him. Dinssa, who is from Dallas, arrived in Detroit from Nigeria by way of Amsterdam and was headed for Phoenix, Feller said."

The sum total equals a mega heads up for people in Arizona and especially the Phoenix area. Let's hope the FBI, CIA and Homeland Security have connected the dots.

You can read more about this in Robert Spencer's article here.

Here is one of Ann Coulter's lines that is sure to draw fire from CAIR - who is already bitchin' about the 6 Imams "humiliation"...

Six imams removed from a US Airways flight from Minneapolis to Phoenix are calling on Muslims to boycott the airline. If only we could get Muslims to boycott all airlines, we could dispense with airport security altogether.
