Every day we are bombarded with stories and pictures of how bad Iraq is. If the MSM is your only source of news/info then you will buy into the "doom & gloom". But that is what they want you to think. They want you to be demoralized and depressed and just give up. They want you to be so angry and disenchanted with our country that you make the decision to stay home on Tuesday. Or even worse - punch the "D" chad.
But we know better. Iraq, while far from being a "restive" country, is much more than just roadside bombs, snipers and kidnappings. There are good things happening. Our soldiers have accomplished so much more than the media is willing to give them credit for. The sad thing is the information is easily accessible to anyone with an Internet connection. Websites such as Centcom, the DOD and any of the military blogs are crammed full of the "other side of the story". But the media refuses to report it. That's right - I said refuse. The opportunity is right there. All the info laid out for them - but the media remains silent.
That's one of the reasons that I love blogging. You can post info that the MSM will not touch. Granted you may only reach 2 or 3 people but that's 2 or 3 more people that know the truth. So in an effort to counter the MSM, here are some pictures from KSoldier over at FreeRepublic. Yes he is in Iraq. Yes he took these pictures. And Yes - he is a hero and a great American.
The playground in the pictures is a special gift to the Iraqi Children from the US Military.
And if that wasn't enough, here is a picture taken by Gary Sinise's group that delivers school supplies to the children in Iraq.
Tuck this picture away and pull it out the next time John Kerry and his band of anti-military comrades start denigrating our brave soldiers...
