Uh-Oh Looks Like the AP is in Deep Doo-Doo!

I am not going to go into all the details here because Curt at Flopping Aces has done amazing work to get at the truth in the Sunnis Burned Alive story blasted all over the media Friday. His digging and research should be mandatory for any journalism student (and for many "professional" journalists).

Suffice it to say, Curt has been in communication with CentCom regarding the Iraqi officer Jamail Hussein who was the source for the AP story. Turns out that Jamail Hussein is not a police officer and does not have any authorization from CentCom, the Multinational Force or the Iraqi government to serve as an official spokesman. The AP and other media organizations have been warned by CentCom about getting their info from non-authorized sources since most of it has turned out to be completely bogus.

Now Curt has a letter posted from CentCom where they are asking AP for a retraction on the Sunnis burned alive story because there is no evidence of an event occurring...

"Unless you have a credible source to corroborate the story of the people being burned alive, we respectfully request that AP issue a retraction, or a correction at a minimum, acknowledging that the source named in the story is not who he claimed he was. MNC-I and MNF-I are always available and willing to verify events and provide as much information as possible when asked."

Ladies and Gentlemen this is hugh and series... The unethical and inappropriate reporting by much of the mainstream media in regards to the situation in Iraq has undermined every single bit of good that our soldiers have died for. The reporting has done nothing but embolden the terrorists and increase the numbers of those weak-kneed cut and run Americans. NBC is now using the AP story as the rationale for reporting that Iraq is in the midst of a civil war.

Going all the way back to August 2005 when the AP dismissed my article, Accentuating the Negative, as nothing more than propaganda from the government, I have fought back against the AP's obvious bias and anti-American bent. While this episode should give me a small piece of satisfaction, it does nothing more than make me very angry. Angry at the number of Americans that have died as a result of the fire ignited in the hearts of the terrorists by our media's reporting. Damn You AP - Damn you to Hell.
