I missed most of Michael Yon's first round of reporting from Iraq last time he was there. I haven't missed a one during this assignment. If you have not followed Yon's dispatched from Iraq, you are missing out on some of the best damned reporting from Iraq that you will ever read. His pictures are impressive also.
In light of the pending back-stabbing by Congress this week, pop over to Yon's blog and read his latest dispatch. Desolate Roads. He is reporting from Mosul while attached to the 2-7 Cavalry battalion. Michael is not sitting in a hotel room in the green zone - he is right in the middle of the battles. Remember that next time you hear some reporting groaning about failure in Iraq.
You can also sign up for email alerts when a new dispatch is posted. THIS is the stuff that should be winning Pulitzer Prizes - not the crap from NYT or WaPo.
