House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, returning to her hometown of San Francisco, strongly warned today that President Bush "should not abuse his power" with regard to troop escalation in the Iraq war and said it is the duty of Congress to "exercise oversight over his power.'' "If the president doesn't have a plan, Democrats will hold him accountable," Pelosi said in her first public appearance outside Washington since her election as speaker Jan. 4.
Barack Obama is looking for ways to "constrain the President".
I personally think that, if there are ways that we can constrain and condition what the president is doing so that, four to six months from now, we are beginning a phased withdrawal while making sure that the troops on the ground have the equipment that they need to succeed, then that is going to be the area that I'm most interested in supporting," he said.
Blowhard Murtha tossed in his two cents worth...
But Mr. Murtha told ABC, "We're going to have extensive hearings, and we're going to look at exactly how much money he has." "And we're going to try to change the direction of this war," he said.

Remember the Constitution? I realize that Socialists don't like the Constitution and are doing all they can to usurp Constitutional Powers but we haven't reached that point. Until then, maybe you should do a little reading before you start bloviating about "constraints" and "abuse of power". Might I suggest this...
