I HATE Harry Reid. I have never seen someone so invested in failure that they lose all sense of reality. Not content to say we've already lost Iraq, now he's proclaiming the surge a failure despite the full contingent of US soldiers arriving tomorrow. From Breitbart...
Top US congressional Democrats bluntly told President George W. Bush Wednesday that his Iraq troop "surge" policy was a failure.
Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi challenged the president over Iraq by sending him a letter, ahead of a White House meeting later on Wednesday.
"As many had forseen, the escalation has failed to produce the intended results," the two leaders wrote.
"The increase in US forces has had little impact in curbing the violence or fostering political reconciliation. It has not enhanced Americas national security. The unsettling reality is that instances of violence against Iraqis remain high and attacks on US forces have increased. "
"In fact, the last two months of the war were the deadliest to date for US troops."
Listen here Harry boy - if we have lost and failed as you so in-eloquently put it, then you must believe that Al Qaeda has won. Are you willing to go on record with those exact words? Of course not - instead you do this little tap dance and send notes to the teacher while avoiding saying what you imply. Meanwhile the very soldiers that have protected your sorry skinny arse are putting their lives on the line so you can sit in an air conditioned office and pontificate about how they failed.
It's past the point of just trying to score political points you son of a Benedict Arnold. You are jeopardizing our soldiers and our country with your little games. It's not funny - It's not cute - It's not some great political powerplay. Your words offer comfort to our enemy and embolden them to kill and maim more of the soldiers that you claim to support. You are vile and beneath contempt. When history is written, YOU will go down as the biggest miserable failure - you and your comrades. Forget Jimmah Carter - You have won the booby prize.
