Another Devastating Loss for My Family

I realize that God doesn't give us more than we can handle but I just don't know how much more hurt my heart can bear...

My Mother-in-Law passed away yesterday morning from a long illness. While she had been ill for some time, this sudden downturn took us all by surprise. We were with her on Monday and she seemed to be holding her own but God had other plans for her.

She was an incredible woman. Her husband, a Methodist preacher, died in 1957 when my husband was a young boy. She worked full-time, raised two children, took care of her sick mother and helped raise 2 grandsons while never remarrying. Several years ago we moved her to a house across the street from us where we could help out and be close by in case she needed anything. She was completely independent, even still driving, until a year and 1/2 ago when she became ill. Her family was her joy and her great-granddaughter Olivia was the apple of her eye.

Our solace comes from the fact that she is now with her husband and our granddaughter Madison who was 3 days old when she died 5 years ago. Our loss is Heaven's gain. But that doesn't make it any easier for the family that loved and cherished her.

The picture above is from Easter 2 years ago. That's Olivia showing Granny what the Easter Bunny brought her.
