Sad news from Savannah... Our favorite weatherman, Joe Cox AKA Cap'n Sandy, died this week at age 80. Cap'n Sandy was the Captain Kangaroo of TV weathermen. Long before computer graphics and doppler radar, Cap'n Sandy used Wilbur the Weatherbird and Calamity Clam to deliver the weather forecast. It was a nightly ritual to see if Cap'n Sandy could grab the tide information from Calamity Clam without getting his hand "bitten". We all knew the Cap'n Sandy Theme Song by heart (and yes I can still sing it today). So thank you Joe Cox for making weather forecasts so much fun. You will be missed.
