GA House Tells Big Government to Back Off

For once, the State Reps in GA banned together and did something that makes me proud of them. They passsed Resolution 632 (SR632) "Affirming states’ rights based on Jeffersonian principles" on April 1, 2009. Here's a snip of the legislation...

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any Act by the Congress of the United States, Executive Order of the President of the United States of America or Judicial Order by the Judicatories of the United States of America which assumes a power not delegated to the government of the United States of America by the Constitution for the United States of America and which serves to diminish the liberty of the any of the several States or their citizens shall constitute a nullification of the Constitution for the United States of America by the government of the United States of America

Right now there are approximately 30 states with similar legislation pending or recently passed. Maybe the state houses are starting to listen to their constituents while the DC'ers muddle along in total oblivion.

Granted I don't listen or watch the network news much but I don't recall seeing much about this in the media...

In the meantime, the GA House gets a big "attaboy" from me. Let's hope this is just an eyelid flicker of the waking of the giant...
