It Doesn't Matter to Murtha

It is Memorial Day Weekend. A time to honor the brave souls who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. A time to honor the heroes who have fought the good fight and those that are still doing so. A time to honor the families of our military - families who sacrifice more than any of us could possibly imagine. The keyword for Memorial Day is "honor".

You would think that a former Marine would realize the sanctity of Memorial Day. You would think that a former Marine would want to avoid snap judgments and let the military complete their investigation before offering up an opinion. You would think that a former Marine would understand that continuously beating up on the military during a war only serves to inflame the passions of those that want to harm our military. You would think that a former Marine would avoid lumping all soldiers together when a few bad apples fail to follow the rules. Yeah - you would think.

Unfortunately John Murtha does not think. If he did, he would know that it is well past time for him to shut up. Instead Murtha is like a perverse Energizer Bunny - he just keeps slamming and bashing no matter what the conditions are. Troops in harms' way? It doesn't matter to Murtha. Terrorists using his statements to incite their comrades for further violence? It doesn't matter to Murtha. A few bad apples does not reflect on the entire bushel? It doesn't matter to Murtha.

During his interview with George Snuffleupagus, Murtha stated that "This is the kind of war you have to win the hearts and minds of the people. And we're set back every time something like this happens."

How right you are Mr. Murtha. Every time you open your addle-pated maw to bleat your Code Pinko talking points, you set us back. You endanger every single man and woman serving our country. You defame the memory of every single man and woman that have sacrificed everything so jackasses like you could bray your hatred. You cut the families of lost soldiers to the bone with every syllable of your speech. You inspire the terrorists to continue the bloodshed. Worst of all you undercut the mission and the security of this country - MY country.

Every single IED or mortar attack from this point forward is YOUR fault. Every family member that has to bury their lost hero will grieve because of YOU. Every flag draped coffin that is brought back to the United States from now on will be on YOUR head. Every single soldier that is subjected to ridicule or humiliation upon returning home from service will suffer because of YOU. YOU will be forever remembered as the ex-Marine who stabbed his brothers in the back just for a few minutes of media time. Shame on you Mr. Murtha. May you never have a moments rest from this point forward. It's the least you deserve.

God Bless our Soldiers and our Veterans. God Bless the President. God Bless the United States of America.
