Where's the Outrage and Condemnation?

I am sick and tired of all the troop bashing and calls for a date to withdraw from Iraq. It has reached a level of absurdity that I have never seen before. Three US soldiers were killed this weekend - one at the checkpoint, the other two tortured, brutalized and murdered. After all the finger pointing at our soldiers for "civilian deaths", surely the Congressional Left would come out and condemn these acts of barbarity against our soldiers... You would think, wouldn't you?

Think again. I popped over to the "official websites" of several prominent "get outta Iraq" members of Congress. Not ONE had any kind of statement on their website denouncing the murder of the soldiers. Most did have press statements regarding the death of Zarqawi, but no mention of the soldiers. The one exception was Maxine Waters who made a comment about the soldiers' deaths in her "Out of Iraq" speech transcript. Here's the names and what their top story was in their press release section...

John Murtha - (June 14, 2006) Bill contains funds for area projectsCambria, Indiana and Somerset Counties

Rahm Emanuel - "Today, in a continuing effort to honor those soldiers who have lost their lives in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, Congressman Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) read names of those who have given their lives in to the Congressional Record. Emanuel will continue to honor these men and women until each name is read into the Congressional Record. "

Sad isn't it. After all the face time these very same Congressional members got denouncing Abu Ghraib, calling for withdrawal from Iraq, denouncing every single thing done by President Bush... But they can't raise their level of outrage to denounce this brutality against OUR soldiers. If the situation was reversed these silent members of Congress would stampede over each other to get in front of the microphone first. But don't forget - they support the troops. I wonder which troops - ours or the Cindy Sheehan's "freedom fighters"...
