The Georgia Pardons and Paroles Friday denied clemency for convicted murderer Troy Anthony Davis.
The five-member board acted after hearing from witnesses in Atlanta for much of the day.
The action apparently clears the way for Davis' scheduled death by lethal injection Sept. 23 at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison at Jackson.
He was convicted and sentenced to death in Chatham County Superior Court in 1991 in the slaying of off-duty Savannah police officer Mark Allen MacPhail, 27.
At last some justice for Officer Mark Allan McPhail! Mark your calendars for Sept. 23!
