Fred Hutchison - "The Fight Against Evil"

Fred Hutchison wrote an incredible article over at RenewAmerica this weekend about Evil and our fight against it. It really brought home some good points about saying no to evil. Here's a few interesting little selections.

"Writers, speakers, public servants and pastors must be bold and dare to say not to evil. It takes courage to say no, because the wicked sometimes publicly malign their opponents or retreat into sullen, vengeful malice, waiting for an opportunity to strike."

HMMM...Now WHO would malign their opponents publicly???

What about this one? The bold words are mine and are not part of the article.
"When one speaks truth and says no to evil, the agendas of evil are exposed and resisted, and the momentum of evil is broken and thrown back in confusion. The tantrums (Howard Dean), insults (Hollywood) and threats (Sheehan, Feingold, Conyers) that might ensue are a manifest sign of the confusion and moral weakness of the wicked."

Here's a special message dedicated to the Cindy Sheehanites on the Left...
"A person who calls terrorists 'freedom fighters' is giving away the fact that he does not believe they are evil.... Their wish to vindicate their stand that evil does not exist naturally leads them to become apologists and defenders of evil."

There's a lot more (it's a long article) but well worth the read. Hutchison throws in CS Lewis' famous "men without chests" quote and boy does it fit. Here it is for those that don't recall the quote...

"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

"Truth Versus Evil" - has a nice ring to it. Thanks Fred Hutchison for reminding us why we continue to fight this battle!
