The Last Thing Zarqawi Saw - US Soldiers

WOW! I go on vacation and Zarqawi ends up roasting with the hounds in Hell! My daughter woke me up with the news after seeing a news alert on the ship's television. With every "Mango Tango" I drank and every dollar lost in the slot machines I thought about what a tremendous job our soldiers have done. Here I am sitting on my butt and being waited on while our soldiers are taking out terrorists so we can be safe. While sad that our soldiers are risking their lives so we can take vacations and live our lives in safety, the thought of Zarqawi taking a dirt nap brought a smile to my face.

One of the first articles I read upon arriving home was this one about Zarqawi's last moments on this earth...

"He was conscious initially, according to the U.S. forces that physically saw him," Caldwell told Fox. "He obviously had some kind of visual recognition of who they were because he attempted to roll off the stretcher, as I am told, and get away, realizing it was U.S. military."

Oh what delicious irony! This mass murdering piece of crap realizes that US military forces have just toasted his butt right before he breathes his last breath.

"He mumbled something, but it was indistinguishable and it was very short," U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said at a news conference.

I can just imagine what those words were... "Oh Sh$#" or maybe "Just Damn".

The next article just stunned my rested brain. Imagine Congressmen in the United States calling Zarqawi's death a "stunt". I'll give you a quess which letter, "R" or "D", is behind their names...

"Some Democrats, breaking ranks from their leadership, today said the death of terrorist leader Abu Musab Zarqawi in Iraq was a stunt to divert attention from an unpopular and hopeless war. "

"This is just to cover Bush's [rear] so he doesn't have to answer" for Iraqi civilians being killed by the U.S. military and his own sagging poll numbers, said Rep. Pete Stark, California Democrat. "Iraq is still a mess -- get out."

"Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, Ohio Democrat, said Zarqawi was a small part of "a growing anti-American insurgency" and that it's time to get out. "We're there for all the wrong reasons," Mr. Kucinich said."

Stark and Kucinich are just plain embarrassments. Both are lifetime members of the Useless Idiots Club. I wonder if they will fly to Iraq to represent anti-Americans at Zarqawi's burial?

Of course some reporters in Baltimore are upset. They claim the media was "too enthusiastic" that Zarqawi was dead. The coverage verged on "inappropriate glee."

"On the MSNBC site, pictures of the dead insurgent's face ran under banner headlines that said, "Terminated." The framing of al-Zarqawi's face suggested a Wanted poster from the Old West - or recalled film images of the hanging of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini near the end of World War II."

"On Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends, anchorman Chris Wallace said of al-Zarqawi, "This is the baddest man in the world - we shouldn't forget that."

"Visitors to CNN's Web site, meanwhile, were urged to play video of the bombing run that killed al-Zarqawi, with U.S. Gen. George W. Casey's voice walking them through the landscape: "The lead aircraft is going to engage [the site] momentarily with a 500-pound bomb on the target." It was the most-played video of the day at www.cnn.com."

Strange that they were not so incensed about the repetitive images from Abu Ghraib and the like. This from a media that doesn't want to show 9/11 images because they are too graphic and painful. This next statement from the same article would be hilarious if it wasn't such a flat out lie...

"It's not our job in the news business to gloat. Our job is to deal with an event like this in a measured way."

In other words - if it's positive we should just report the facts and avoid any hint of happiness. But on the other hand, if it defames our soldiers, our President or our Country - fire away. Frankly I'm surprised that the media actually went whole hog on the coverage. With their penchant for bad news from Iraq, this one doesn't fit their playlist from the DNC.

What a great way to end a vacation! May Zarqawi know depths of pain in Hell well beyond the pain he inflicted while on the earth.
