While The Emperor Fiddled, the World Was Burning

Yesterday President Obama went to Colorado for a couple of fundraisers and a little downtime from all his "hard work" at the White House.  While he was having just a good old time and yucking it up, the world continued to spiral out of control.  Forget that we are in the midst of another one of this administrations royal f*&*ed up manufactured crisis, the turmoil across the globe has the entire world on edge.

Most of the sane people know that the last thing on Obama's to-do-list is truly working on fixing a problem - unless it involves the fundamental transformation of the USA. But even some Dems are beginning to wonder where Obama's head is at. Frankly I know where his head is at, but it is telling that some of the syncophants are beginning to question "The One".

Since there are so many low-information voters who seem to only understand pictures, I thought I would do a little visual display of exactly how concerned the President of the United States is with the current state of the USA and the world.

For those having a hard time getting upset about the apparent lack of giving a crap by President Obama, imagine if these were pictures of President George Bush.  Heads would be exploding all over the world!

While Everyone Is Focused on Obamacare, Kerry Betrays Our Constitution

While everyone is focused on Sen Ted Cruz's incredible performance on the Senate floor and Sen. McCain's absolute betrayal of conservatives, Sec of State John Kerry was signing away our country's sovereignty at the UN. Despite objections from many members of Congress, the Obama administration is taking another step toward putting our country under the thumb of the UN.

Here's how the media describes the treaty -
"It prohibits the transfer of conventional weapons if they violate arms embargoes or if they promote acts of genocide, crimes against humanity or war crimes, and if they could be used in attacks on civilians or civilian buildings such as schools and hospitals."

Does anyone else see the absolute hypocrisy in the Obama administration pushing this agenda?? Is this treaty going to be retroactive?  If so, then the Obama administration will be in a world of hurt with the UN. Does arming the Syrian "rebels" (aka Al Qaeda) violate this provision?  What about the whole "Fast and Furious" debacle?  And let's not forget about the assassinations in Benghazi.

If you look up "hypocritical ass" in the dictionary today, you would see a picture of John Kerry.  Case in point, this statement..,

"This is about keeping weapons out of the hands of terrorists and rogue actors," Kerry said after signing the Arms Trade Treaty in front of UN officials.

I guess he forgot that the US is doing exactly that right now in Syria. I kind of consider the drug cartels in Mexico "rogue actors". Wouldn't be the first time that Kerry had an episode of "selective memory".

Of course the groups pushing this UN treaty were just thrilled about the US laying down at the UN. This statement from Kathi Lynn Austin, exec director of Conflict Awareness Project (goal is to track illicit arms trafficking) is just priceless...

"The recent terrorist attack on a shopping mall in Nairobi is a terrible reminder that no citizen, tourist or visitor of a country is immune from the human tragedy that results from a worldwide, unregulated arms trade," she said

The terrorist attack in Nairobi has nothing to do with an unregulated arms trade, you imbecile!  This is nothing more than another form of worldwide gun control.  Let me repeat this slowly... guns don't kill people, people kill people.  Terrorists don't care if their guns are legally obtained or not.  If they don't have a gun available, they will use whatever means necessary to inflict human carnage and suffering.  A UN treaty is about as effective as eating cereal with a fork in preventing terrorist attacks.

Frank Jannuzi, deputy executive director of Amnesty International USA wins dumbass of the day honors with this statement...

"The Obama administration is politically committed to ending the unscrupulous trade in deadly weapons used by dictators, war lords and criminal gangs to commit atrocities,"

Repeat after me, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Syria.  Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Syria.  The stupidity - it burns,

John Kerry did his best to reassure us Americans who are concerned about ceding control of anything to the UN...

"Make no mistake, we would never think about supporting a treaty that is inconsistent with the rights of Americans, the rights of American citizens to be able to exercise their guaranteed rights under our constitution," he said.

BWAHAHA - I had to read this about 5 times just to be sure I wasn't reading The Onion.  Since when has ANYONE in the Obama Administration cared about protecting our Constitutional rights.  As Obama has demonstrated time and time again, anything that trashes the Constitution is on the priority list of this administration. And the media report this crap with a straight face???

Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, Brian Terry and all the Mexican civilians killed with Fast and Furious guns were not available for comment...

Where We Have Come From - Where We Are At Now

Obama talked about a "fundamental transformation" of this country during his campaign in 2008.  This week the entire world got to see exactly what he meant especially with our relationship with the Soviet Union...

We have gone from "Tear down this wall"....

to this...

Well at least we can say that Obama kept one of his campaign promises...

Consorting With The Enemy

Isn't it ironic that on the anniversary of the murder of over 3000 Americans and an attack on American soil, we're discussing military strikes in Syria to aid the rebels?  If you only listen to the mainstream media or are just one of those headline skimming low information voters, you automatically say "yeah let's help out the guys trying to defeat a murderous dictator".  But the truth is a bit deeper than many are willing or even care about going.

The truth of the matter is the Syrian rebels are NOT civilian citizens angry with their country's leaders.  They are not a Syrian form of the "tea party" and are not freedom fighters.  They are Islamists that are on a jihad to build their caliphate. The rebels are a mixture of various Islamic fighters from around the globe - chief among them Al-Qaeda.

What??  You think I'm just some crazy lady with a computer who has nightmares about black helicopters?  Well read the testimony of Thomas Joscelyn to the House Committee on Homeland Security.  Here's one damning snip-

"Al Qaeda does not control the entire rebellion, which is made up of a complex set of actors and alliances. However, al Qaeda and its allies dominate a large portion of northern Syria and play a key role in the fighting throughout the rest of the country. These same al Qaeda-affiliated forces have fought alongside Free Syrian Army brigades. There is no clear geographic dividing line between the most extreme fighters and other rebels."

And these are the rebels that we are now arming?  Yes our CIA is shipping weapons, equipment, etc to Syria straight to the rebels.  As a matter of face, we started shipping these weapons THIS WEEK!

So the President is contemplating military strikes against the Assad regime as a "warning" against the use of chemical weapons. Contrary to Sec Kerry and Obama's claims, there is NO conclusive evidence that the chemical weapons unleashed on Syrians were from the Assad forces.  Common sense and history itself would lend one to believe that the chemical weapon attack was part of the "grand plan" of the rebels to rope the US into action.

So think about this on the Anniversary of 9/11 - the day Al Qaeda attacked our country - we are essentially arming our sworn enemy when we ship weapons to the rebels.  If (God forbid) we end up in some kind of military action in Syria, we will be asking our soldiers to fight alongside Al Qaeda.  Certainly I'm not the only one that has blood shooting out of their eyeballs just even imagining such a scenario.

On September 10, 2010, President Obama held a press conference. The Ground Zero Mosque was one of the top news items and a reporter asked the obligatory "are we at war with Islam" question.  This was President Obama's response:

"We are not at war against Islam. We are at war against terrorist organizations that have distorted Islam"

Today the President attended memorials remembering the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack. Last night he gave a speech talking up the reasons why we should help the rebels.  Does anyone else feel like the world has not only stopped turning but has flipped inside out?

It's a slap in the face to all the families that lost loved ones on 9/11, the rescue workers and every single member of the military who has served in Iraq or Afghanistan. Do the words "aid and comfort to the enemy" still have any meaning?

Never Underestimate the Power of Stupidity

I've had a couple of weeks to sit back and lick my wounds over the results of the 2012 Election. I quarantined myself from talk radio and conservative news websites because I just could not bear to read/hear the self-flagellation of conservatives for failing to deliver on a much needed new direction for this country.  Despite my self-imposed exile, I could not avoid bits and pieces of news clips and stories proclaiming to have the REAL answer for the reason for the loss.  Typically all the high-brow know-it-alls have it completely wrong.  The loss had nothing to do with messaging, the wrong candidate or moderation.  The loss was solely about the absolute ignorance of the majority of this country's population.

What else could explain the fact that people voted to continue down the road to fiscal ruin?  Not just our country's fiscal ruin but our own personal fiscal nose-dive.  Groceries are ridiculously high, gas (while trending down at the moment) costs more than it did 4 years ago, home values are in the toilet and wages are sinking as fast as the Titanic. Don't even mention the fact that our country is in debt so far over our head that it will be generations before we can balance the spreadsheet- if we even survive as a country long enough to get there.

Only abject ignorance would propel people to vote simply based on a candidate's skin color - it's not racism, it's stupidity. It's the years of mental beat-downs by racecard flashing media whores who blamed skin color for failure to achieve success instead of the absolute idiocy of sitting on your ass and waiting for someone else to hand it to you.  It's the fallacy of believing that you are entitled to something because over a hundred years ago someone with the same skin color as you was treated poorly.

Voting with your "lady parts" or your dreams of a gay wedding can only be defined as ignorance in the voting booth.  No one with any shred of intelligence can believe that a vote for a candidate could mean a ban on birth control or change the definition of marriage. I do have to hand it to the political power brokers. It was a masterful stroke of political manuevering against a population of those with no ability or desire to think for themselves.

Stupidity is what gives celebrity endorsements the edge in the current political climate.  How else can you explain a multi-millionaire celebrity bemoaning the inequities of the 1%?  How stupid do you have to be to believe that someone serving $3000 bottles of champagne or forking over $35K per person at a fund raiser would even truly care about someone making $10/hr - unless you are spending some of that $10/hr pay for one of their celebrity products?

No amount of messaging could overcome such a level of ignorance.  Not when you've got people touting "Obama-phones", "free" healthcare, government bailouts and entitlements out the whazoo as the reason for continuing down the path of self-destruction.  There is no perfect candidate to defeat the abject idiocy of those that believe the government can take better care of us than we can take care of our ourselves.

Those that supported the Romney/Ryan ticket failed to remember the most important thing - Never underestimate the power of stupidity.  Now we are all going to suffer for THAT ignorance.

Are Social Issue Voters Going to Determine the Election Outcome?

I have a diverse group of facebook friends which makes life interesting especially around election season.  It's usually not too terribly bad - we all manage to get along but this year it's different.  I find myself much less tolerant with those that support the re-election of President Obama. I couldn't really put my finger on why my tolerance level was so very low with these friends - until today.

One of my friends is an ardent supporter of gay marriage.  I have no problem with homosexuality - your sexual activity is none of my business - unless it infringes upon my rights and personal values.  I believe in civil unions but not in same-sex marriage.  I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman - simple as that.

This friend has decided to cast her vote based solely on gay marriage and reproductive rights (a more PC term for abortion).  She even said that she could never support a candidate who would not allow her gay friends to file a joint tax return. Now this is not some young woman in her early 20's living at home with her parents.  She's a married woman in her late 20's, works full-time and has her own business on the side.  How could a bright intelligent woman cast a vote based on social issues alone? What's even scarier to me is the high number of "likes" she got for her facebook post.  Is this the type of voter that will determine the outcome of the election? Dear Martha - I hope not.

Frankly I'm shocked that in these perilous economic times that anyone would use social issues as the deciding factor. Have our citizens become so self-centered that they can't see beyond their own little world bubble?  Have we been so dumbed down that we can't determine priorities and see the big picture? Are we so ignorant of the Constitution and our history that we will turn over the keys to our country to someone who wants to "fundamentally transform" our country for one issue? It just boggles my mind.

The issue of gay marriage is not high on my list of priorities in a candidate.  The United States is in crisis and our future is hanging by a thread.  I am frankly more concerned about the future of my children and grandchildren than whether or not Frank and Jim can file a joint tax return as a "married couple". I am more worried about whether or not people will be able to find a job, keep their home or even afford food in the very near future.  Filing a joint tax return as a married gay couple - at the rate we're going no one will be filing tax returns because no one will have a job.

I'm not even going to broach the subject of "reproductive rights" - that is simply a red herring thrown out there to distract voters away from the economy.  Besides no one is trying to ban birth control - just not having taxpayers fund your lifestyle choices.

I pray that voters like my friend are few and far between but I fear they are more prevalant than any of us believe. I hope that at some point prior to this election the rational thoughts take over and these people like my friend pull their heads out of the sand.  In the meantime I may have to "un-friend" them on facebook until after the election. Or sign them up for Romney-Ryan updates so at least they get the other side of the story...

A System That Punishes Responsibility

As most of you know, I have been through a crazy few years - a drawn out divorce, over my head debt, etc.  BUT I survived and actually thrived.  When we rang in 2012, I decided it was time to think about buying a house of my own.  I knew that my credit was still "iffy" but thought I'd go forward so I would know what I needed to work on.  Imagine my surprise when I found out that despite taking responsibility for my debts and doing the right thing, the system worked against me.  I'm not posting this for sympathy or as a whiny screed - I think it's important to know how the credit reporting system and mortgage system are set up to work against those that try to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

When I found myself in a financial crumch even before TheColdOne decided he didn't want to be married anymore, I chose to join a debt management program rather than file bankruptcy.  This was quite a stretch as my debts were around $40,000.  I began making the monthly payments to get myself out of my self-made financial hole.  Unfortunately, I didn't learn my lesson and ran up a couple more credit cards.  I had just enrolled those maxed out cards into a debt management program when I was hit with the divorce.

I chose once again, to pay off my debts.  After all, I ran them up and it was my responsibility.  The divorce dragged out over 3 years and my company put pay raises on hold & eliminated yearly bonuses.  I was struggling just to pay the essentials.  I kept up payments on the oldest debt management program but dropped out of the newest one.  I contacted all of the credit card companies involved and explained the situation.  I started making at least token payments each month - less than the minimum due - in order to show that I was making an effort.  Once I received the divorce settlement, I paid all the past due amounts and brought the cards up to current status.  I completed the initial $40,000 program - not missing a payment for over 9 years - and paid in full.

So this is how I entered into the world of credit reports with less than $6000 in credit card debt, a couple of parent college loans and a car loan.  I actually had a little bit in savings - enough to cover the closing costs of a mortgage.  I met with a mortgage lender, explained my situation and we proceeded to see where I stood.  My credit score was still less than the minimum required but only by 30 points.  Just a few tweaks would bring me up to snuff.  I set out to contact the credit card companies and see what could be done.  Needless to say, I was met with indignation and actual disdain.  Some even expressed shock that I would even think of asking them to work with me.

Here's a few key points that I learned.  First of all, if you are unable to make the minimum payments on your credit cards, it does NO GOOD to make at least a token payment and contact the credit card company.  If you pay less than the minimum, it goes as a delinquent account on your credit report.  Delinquent payments stay on your credit report for 7 YEARS.  If you file bankruptcy, it stays on your credit report for 10 years BUT FHA allows you to obtain a mortgage after 2 years of filing bankruptcy.  There is no relief for those with delinquent payments or for those that struggled to make token payments.  This has a HUGE impact on your credit score.

Secondly, it doesn't matter if your credit card payment is posted 1 day late.  It automatically goes to the delinquent payment of 30days bucket.  I literally had a payment posted on the 6th when the minimum payment was due on the 5th.  It now shows as a 30day delinquent payment on the credit report.  This also has a huge impact on your credit score.  The credit card companies were actually offended that I requested this be changed on my account - "you should have made your payment on time".  Forget the fact that I made a payment that was higher than the minimum amount due.  Didn't matter.

Lastly - if your account goes to collection but your payment was already in the mail and posted less than 2 days after it went to collection, too bad.  Even if you spoke to the credit card company many times BEFORE it went into collection and they knew of your situation.  Even if your payment was to pay the account in full.

So essentially, I did what I felt was right.  I took responsibility for my debt and slowly paid them off.  I have no active credit cards (and yes that has a negative impact on your credit score - you have to show that you have available credit) and less than $6000 in credit card debt.  I have paid all rent, utilities, car payments, student loan payments, etc on time.  The only place I struggled was the credit cards - yet I am not able to get a mortgage.  I am a nurse and make a comfortable salary - have worked in this same position for 10 years - yet that doesn't make a difference.

When I hear the news reports about how the government is working to help those behind in their mortgages and those that took out mortgages they couldn't truly afford, my blood starts to boil.  I'm not denigrating all of those that are in financial hot water - most of it through no fault of their own.  Believe it or not, I could have filed bankruptcy 3 years ago and be better off now.  I would have saved all the money that I paid to the credit cards, been credit card debt free and began to rebuild my credit.  I wouldn't have struggled and scaped by and the stress would have been reduced tremendously.  I could actually qualify for a FHA loan since the required 2 years after bankruptcy would have passed.

I just find it astonishing that if you are able to dig yourself out of the hole & work very hard to do so, you are punished.  This doesn't bode well for the future of the people that struggle through these economic times and want to grab their piece of the American dream.  It is strictly a numbers game and the math doesn't add up for those ready to take the next step into homeownership.

Rev Al's Knee-Jerk Party - Same Story, Different City

The Internet is on fire with stories about the death of Trayvon Martin.  The sad thing is that most of those commenting are jerking their knees about something they don't know anything about.  Most of what has been reported has been snippets released by those with an obvious agenda.  These snippets have taken on a life of their own and have blossomed into full blown hysteria.  I saw a YouTube video of a Florida news broadcast that called this a "vigilante murder" and called Martin "a boy".  Now you have Spike Lee tweeting out George Zimmerman's home address and the New Black Panthers placing a bounty on Zimmerman's head.  What the hell is going on here??

This case IS a tragedy.  A young man is dead and another man is in hiding for his safety.  There has not been a single hearing, inquest, etc but taking one look at all the reports, you would believe the trial was over and the verdict was guilty.

The pics of all the "hoodie" rallies are just bizarre.  Let me just say something openly and forget about being "politically correct".  Anyone that claims to not have their heart skip a beat when out at night and seeing a strange person in your neighborhood wearing their sweatshirt hood is lying.  Notice that I did not mention a race or sex here - it has nothing to do with race.  It has to do with the real world and the fact that criminals are drawn to wearing hoodies. Just watch the news and check out surveillance footage of burglaries or robberies - the majority of the criminals are wearing some type of hoodie.  Not a racial issue - more of a clothing choice issue. It just looks damn evil - regardless of the color or sex of the person wearing it.

Anytime I see Rev Al jump into the middle of a situation, my skeptical alert starts going off at high frequency. Rev Al doesn't miss a beat when it comes to stirring the fires of racism.  If there is a whiff of the possibility of race being involved, you can bet Rev Al is on the first flight he can get.  He's jerked his knees so many times that I can't believe he can still walk without limping.  When Rev Al gets involved that should be a signal to everyone to take a step back and look at the big picture.

Everyone joining in with the Rev Al Knee-Jerk Party needs to simmer down and let justice run it's course.  Contrary to what the Rev likes to scream, there is justice in this country. Let the FACTS speak for themselves - don't let the media pull your chain or stoke the fires of hatred.  Otherwise you are just as guilty as Rev Al and the New Black Panthers in stirring the pot of violence.

And for those that still can't control those jerking knees - just remember these 2 names - Richard Jewell and the Duke Lacrosse Players.  Both were situations that got blasted through the media and convicted people without a shred of factual evidence. Lots of lives were ruined and lots of reputations permanently damaged.  And it all could have been prevented if cooler heads had prevailed and those that make their living feeding off public frenzies had been held to account for their actions.

Please take a deep breath and let's wait on the facts. We owe it to the memory of Trayvon Martin.

UPDATE:  Here's a video from Breitbart of the New Black Panthers' Press Conference/Rally

A Not So Humble Brag Indicts the Libs on Operation Get Rush

One thing about the Libs - they just love to brag about their efforts to bring down conservatives. If they even think they are having a modicum of success, they will haul their cookies to any media outlet willing to listen and regale the listeners/readers with stories of their mighty heroics against the vile right wingnuts.  The great thing about this is they sometimes end up being hoisted on their own petard.  Case in point - the recent Fluke-pocolypse against Rush Limbaugh.

Anyone that follows politics, etc knew that the whole kerfluffle was orchestrated by the Left especially when Sheila Jackson Lee started spouting off about Rush on the floor of the House.  Proving it might be difficult though - that is until someone wanted to grab their 15 minutes of fame.  From the excellent piece at Legal Insurrection...

The secondary boycott of Rush Limbaugh advertisers is portrayed in the media as a reaction to a groundswell of public outrage. In fact, the secondary boycott was initiated by and driven by Media Matters, which had a "Stop Limbaugh" campaign on the shelf waiting to be used, and was executed by Angelo Carusone, Director of Online Strategy for Media Matters.

So basically it was nothing more than a plan sitting on a shelf at Media Matters just waiting on a foot in the mouth moment from Rush.  It wasn't a grassroots campaign of regular outraged Americans - it was an astroturf plan from the Obama Zombies over at Media Matters.  And Angelo Carusone couldn't help crowing about how he worked all weekend to get Rush off the air... (also from Legal Insurrection's piece)

In the Village Voice interview, Carusone acknowledges he talked to advertisers all weekend, and that the Carbonite Saturday night announcement was a key turning point:
I started talking to advertisers on Thursday, and got a lot of feedback on Friday, and I knew a lot of movement was taking place. This was important to think about from a business perspective. The very clearest example was when Carbonite came out on Saturday night. That was significant because they had been one of his biggest advertisers, and they announced their drop after the so called apology. They said the apology didn’t matter. Rush had exposed himself as too volatile to do business with.

As it turns out, the Media Matters Get Rush Campaign was an actual failure.  Carbonite's stock tanked, Sleep Train asked to come back but was turned down by Rush and Rush has a full stable of advertisers.  AND his audience has increased in size.  If Carusone wasn't so quick to try to take credit for the campaign, you would almost think it was a brilliant bit of reverse psychology by El Rushbo himself.

Now Media Matters has awakened a sleeping giant.  We were all getting a little quiet and subdued with the GOP primary and the actual trainwreck that our nation is becoming.  But this little quest to silence conservative voices was a wake up call.  Not only have passions been raised but Rush has even started tweeting!  Coincidentally Rush's first tweet was a link to the story on Legal Insurrection.  Ahhh I love the smell of schnauzefreud at 12noon on weekdays...

Oh and by the way - I sent a copy of the Village Voice interview to the IRS so they could start billing Media Matters for taxes.  I bet the IRS was deluged with copied of the article.

It's Time to Stand Up!

The very foundation of our country is under attack.  While most Americans are concerned with American Idol and the Lefties latest attempt to get conservative voices out of the public airwaves, the foundation of our country is being whittled away.  This morning, Glenn Beck read pieces of this article on the air and it struck right to my heart.  Read it for yourself - it's chilling...

WallBuilders - Issues and Articles - America’s Most Biblically-Hostile U. S. President

I'm in the middle of a Beth Moore Bible Study about King David which is absolutely incredible.  Last night's class was how to get a "head up over your enemies" and the good fight against evil.  The underlying message was Wake Up, Look Up, Stand Up and Dress Up (put on the armor of God). The message was even more appropriate than Beth Moore could have realized.

I don't believe in coincidences anymore.  Things happen for a reason - God's reason.  We may not know why or understand it, but there is a purpose for everything in our lives.  There is no "coincidence" in the timing of my Bible study lesson and the article from David Barton.  I have been silent and not blogging for a while because I just feel so overwhelmed with all that is going on in our country.  I also have been working at my real job and just too tired to write.  I have been praying for God to show me a direction for my life not that all the crisis have past.  So I will be writing much more and blogging, tweeting, etc.

Read the article and come back often for more insights and opinions.  My heart weeps for the state of my country and I fear for the future for my children and grandchildren. I may just have a "little blog" with not many readers but I can't be silent any longer.

IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP, LOOK UP & STAND UP!!

Just Discovered - A Rare Breed of Pig-Monkey in a Tree

Scientists have discovered a new species of animal to celebrate the New Year - An actual Pig-Monkey in a tree...

That is the despicable Bill Maher, once again mocking Denver Quarterback Tim Tebow and his faith.  From The Blaze -

Maher posted two back-to-back tweets featuring the now infamous "Tebowing" stance. The first tweet, which read, "TREEbowing Happy New Year everybody and thanks for the 600,000 who joined me on twitter in 2011," featured a link to a picture of Maher Tebowing in a tree (hence the "TREEbowing" reference).

And while we're on the subject of Tim Tebow, here is Terrell Suggs, a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, dissing Tebow's faith on the sidelines... (Chickenhawk Express tip o' the hat to The Blaze)

When we play Raven football, it’s scary,” Suggs said during the interview. Then, he went on to claim that his team doesn‘t necessarily need God’s assistance on the sidelines. (snip)

“With all do respect, we don’t pray on sidelines. I mean we do — we give it up to God just to be safe…we gonna go out there and win that game,” he said. “We don’t need our kicker to make a 62-yarder. I‘m just sayin’. I’m just sayin.”(snip)

“Our quarterback — when our quarterback prays he be like ‘You know what guys — you sit on your couch and enjoy this. Thank you for blessing me…letting me wake up to play this game. I’m gonna impress you,’” he proclaimed. (snip)

I personally think it's refreshing to see a young man with so many God-given talents be true to his faith and beliefs.  As a die-hard GA Bulldog fan, I didn't like Tebow in his college football years but only because I was born to dislike anything "Gators".  But his devotion, his firm belief in God and the fact that he is an "unashamed Christian" gives me hope for this world.  Such a great role model for our young people when we are over-run with "hero worship" of thugs and criminals.

We have strayed from our beliefs and public expression of our faith thanks to the PC police.  It's time to return to our faith and turn our lives over to God. And I thank Tim Tebow and his family for bringing some sanity to this insane world.

My List of Unusual Thanks

On Thanksgiving we all think about what we are thankful for.I have so many blessings that it would take pages to list them all. So this year I decided to list the most unusual things that I am thankful for. This list/post is not meant to downplay the true blessings in my life or to mock the meaning of the day. I just thought that with all the heavinesss surrounding our lives,a little lightness was in order. So here goes. Some may sound strange but I bet there are some you can identify with... 1. Keurig coffeemaker - I can make a cup of fresh brewed coffee or tea anytime of the day or night and don't have to clean a coffeepot or tolerate warmed over coffee. 2. Luggage with wheels - now that I'm single those little wheels are a lifesaver when I travel. 3. Yoga pants - now I can be comfortable while working at home but still look nice enough to run errands if I need to. Plus you don't have to deal with the terribly unflattering sweat pants or the crinkle-while-you-walk of windsuit pants. 4. Bounce dryer bar - don't have to suffer through the humiliation of dropping a used dryer sheet from your pants leg when out in public 5. Gas powered lawnmower - after using a rotary pushmower to cut my little yard the past 2 summers, thisis truly a blessing for me and my neighbors who no longer have to watch me struggle while sweating like a cottonpicker in the deep south in August. 6. The E-Reader lending library in my town - as an avid reader I can enjoy my Nook Color without spending a small fortune buying books. 7. Pizza & Other type of delivery food - when the cupboard is bare, when a work deadline is looming or if I just don't feel like cooking, I can pop online and order/pay for the food to be delivered right to me with no mess or cleanup. 8. Digital cameras - now i don't have to use up a whole roll of film and have it developed only to discover that you blurred that once in a lifetime moment - like the time I got to meet Dwight "the catch" Clark and the picture didn't turn out. 9. Here Comes the Bride...

No - no - no - not me.  I've learned my lesson in the marriage department.  My baby girl got married last weekend.  THAT has been occupying my blogging time for the past year - all the wedding planning and making decorations, invitations, etc.  The wedding was beautiful - and the bride was stunning.  I may be a bit on the partial side but you can judge for yourself just how gorgeous she is.

Now that the wedding is over and the divorce settlement check is in the bank, I can refocus my attention back to blogging and politics.  I never really went away - I was twittering while doing wedding stuff.

So here's to a fresh new start - not only to my daughter and my wonderful new son-in-law - but to Chickenhawk Express.  I'm Back......

Way Past Time for Justice

The GA Board of Pardons and Parole issued a denial of clemency for cop-killer Troy Anthony Davis this AM. FINALLY - all appeals are now exhausted.  The Board's decision cannot be overturned by the Governor.  So it looks like justice will finally be served for the cold-blooded murder of Savannah Police Officer Mark MacPhail after 20+ years.

The spectacle surrounding the appeals in this case has been at best misguided - at worst a disgraceful display of race-baiting.  For those of us following this case from the DAY OF THE MURDER, the mockery of our judicial system by 2 organizations looking to cash in on the case has left a horrendous taste in our mouth.  Amnesty International used the murder of Officer MacPhail as a platform for their anti-death penalty views.  There was never any question of guilt or innocence  - it was all about stopping the death penalty.  For the NAACP, well the reasons certainly don't need to be explained.  Just the same old typical race card plays that have become the norm from the NAACP.

This case had nothing to do with race but everything to do with justice.  I throw up in my mouth every time I hear the media spew the same talking points about witness recantation.  They always forget to bring up the fact that the recantations came YEARS after the original trial and were actually not really recantations - more of a "I can't remember" claims. Lost in all the propaganda is the shell casing matching the casing used in a shooting earlier in the tragic evening for which Troy Anthony Davis was convicted of.  Also lost is the pair of Davis' shorts in his mother's washer that contained forensic evidence that tied Davis to the murder.  Davis' mother claimed that the police forced their way into her home and she did not give them permission to search the washer so the evidence was tossed out.

So tomorrow night at 7pm the family of Mark MacPhail will finally see that justice has been done.  Someone claimed today that the family will get their revenge when Davis is executed.  I call bravo sierra on that - the family will get to see justice that has been delayed for 20+ years finally delivered.

I actually had someone on Twitter call me ignorant and being glad someone was being put to death was distasteful.  I explained that what was distasteful was a thug and punk shooting a mortally wounded off-duty police officer in the face and the creep smiling as he pulled the trigger.

If you want to read more about the FACTS in this case and the background, search Troy Anthony Davis in the search box above.

President George W. Bush Interview Remembering Sept 11

This is without a doubt one of the most comprehensive interviews of President George W. Bush recounting the events of Spetember 11, 2001.  Watching the footage and photos from that day, I am reminded just how blessed our country was to have him leading our country during this time of tragedy and grief.  No matter if you are a Republican or a Democrat, you have to admit that his leadership and calm helped move us through one of the most difficult times in our country's history.

Now - all kumbaya feelings aside - try to imagine how our current President would react to such a situation... I think back to how he briefly threw out a mention about the Ft. Hood massacre after he thanked some political cronies.  It's hard to imagine any emotion coming from him other than derision and devisiveness.

Thank you President Bush for thinking of our country and the citizens first.  Thank you for your calm leadership during the storm of September 11, 2001.

Liars, Cheats and Deadbeats, Oh My!

What a week this has been!  We have been subjected to lies and the liars that tell them during the whole Debt Ceiling debacle.  I have never witnessed a sitting President of the United States lie repeatedly on national TV on multiple occasions while the media just laps it up.  Then the media starts spouting the very same talking points. Not only the lies, but the blatant hypocrisy and vile rhetoric spewing from the Left has just reached a fever pitch.  At any moment I expected to see foam covering Press Sec Carney's mouth when Ed Henry pressed him on a question about the President's plan.  And how about the VP of the United States calling 60% of Americans "terrorists"??  What really chaps my arse is this is from the same administration that refuses to call an actual terrorist a "terrorist".

I know that I have been extremely remiss in my blogging but life has just consumed almost every waking moment the past 6 months - well actually the past almost 3 years now.  With political season heating up, you can be sure that I will MAKE time to blog.  You can also follow me on Twitter - @robin0120 - which has become quite an addiction.

So... I can't finish a post about liars, cheats and deadbeats without bringing you up to date on my whole divorce drama.  My goodness this whole thing has been just too twisted for words.  Finally had the hearing back in September 2010 BUT it took the Judge until June 1, 2011 to issue his final settlement decision and decree of divorce.  I was actually shocked beyond words when I got to the "what did I get" part - more money than I originally asked for and sole possession of my 401K.  Guess the judge didn't have a problem seeing through the lies of TheColdOne on the witness stand.  The judge gave him 60 days to pay me in full.

On the very last day of the deadline for filing an appeal, TheColdOne's attorney filed an appeal.  It was really pretty sad because it was pretty much based on a clerical error and didn't have one ounce of fact based merit.  Of course we replied and the judge completely dismissed the appeal and signed an amended order with the corrected clerical error - there was no change whatsoever in the settlement but he did leave in the date for the payment from the original order.  Well of course that date has come and gone and I still don't have the money. TheColdOne's attorney is not returning phone calls or emails from my attorney so we are filing the contempt paperwork by the end of the week.  Since TheColdOne is supposed to judge at the Hunting Retriever Club's Grand Competition in Canada in September, we are also asking the judge to withhold his passport and restrict all travel until he pays up.

You may think I'm bitter - I am but not about the divorce or the failed marriage.  I am mad as hell that TheColdOne can't even man up enough to pay his responsibilities. I know it just pissed him off to see what the judge ordered for the settlement - should have taken the $8000 settlement offer idiot - but that's how the chips fell.  You can believe that if the situation were reversed, he would be beating down my door to get the money. It's not my fault that he spent money like a drunken sailor at the low-class Hooters wannabe bar near our house or that hanging with strippers at the Gold Club cost so much.

But in the end, he will have to pay up.  He's not hurting me by not paying - that's the whole point of the little game he is playing.  I have the money to pay for my daughter's wedding and I've managed quite well with just my salary for the past 2 1/2 years.  I hope, for his sake, that he decides to do the right thing sooner than later.  It will be quite embarrassing to have to admit to the Grand Committee that he can't judge the field trials because he is a deadbeat.

Qaddafi and Obama - Six Degrees of Separation

All eyes have been focused on the uprising in Libya and the crazy leader Qaddafi.  For some in the younger generation, Qaddafi is simply a crazy dictator that wears bizarre clothes.  For those of us "older" folks, we remember the Libyan leader's hands shoved deep into the Lockerbie bombing.  He is an evil man and should have been taken care of a long time ago.

But everyone is shocked, just shocked I tell you, at the delay in President Obama's response to the brutal response to the protesters in Libya - especially after Obama was quick to jump on the anti-Mubarek bandwagon.  I'm not willing to permanently don my tinfoil hat but there is a connection between Obama and Qaddafi - a kind of Six Degrees of Separation connection.

Who could ever forget Obama's "spiritual mentor", Rev. Jeremiah Wright?  Wright has been pretty silent since Obama threw him under the bus but back in 2009, Wright didn't shy away from bragging about his trip to Libya with Louis Farrakhan.  Gateway Pundit posted the following video...

Per Gateway Pundit - A video surfaced in 2009 showing Barack Obama's pastor and mentor praising Marxism and discussing his ties to Communists in El Salvador and Nicaragua and the Libyan government.  This speech by Wright was delivered less than two years ago on September 17, 2009.

Jeremiah Wright's relationship with Farrakhan is well documented throughout the Internet.  You can read Mark Hyman's 10/16/08 American Spectator column, Obama's Farrakhan Problem, for instance.  But this little tidbit from Hyman's article struck me as quite odd especially when reading it in light of today's world...

Wright's close friendship with Farrakhan goes back at least to the 1980s. Wright joined Farrakhan on a 1984 trip to Libya to visit Moammar Gadhafi. Wright predicted that once this became public knowledge "a lot of his [Obama's] Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in Hell."

No direct ties to Obama but ties to a person that Obama once called a "mentor" - enough of a connection to make one go "hmmm" when you consider the polar opposite responses between Egypt and Libya.

No matter what the outcome, it's reaching a point where even Obama supporters have got to be scratching their head over who Obama really is and what he truly believes. Are the chickens from Obama's past starting to come home to roost??

BTW don't hold your breath waiting on the mainstream media to bring any of this up.  They are too busy worrying about Lindsay Lohan's possible jail time and the prank call to Wisconsin Gov Walker to deal with Obama issues.

Leaked Videos, Texts and Pics Scream Ulterior Motive

It seems that we have the beginning of an epidemic here in our country.  Videos, text messages and even photos from several years earlier are being leaked to media outlets causing some hefty PR bills for a couple of high profile people.  First there was the Brett Favre cellphotos of "Mr. Happy" and now some >3 year old videos made to entertain troops aboard ship during a deployment have cost a career Navy Captain his command.

Forget the whole argument about whether or not these leaked media bytes are inappropriate or harassment. No one can deny the pics/videos, etc are in poor taste and disgusting (as in the Brett Favre's pics).  Let's focus on why the info is suddenly in the media now.

The Favre incident was over 2 years ago.  Why are the claims, messages and photos coming out now? If Favre committed harassment or offended someone, then why the wait?  Is someone looking to force him to take a much needed retirement?  Was the hope for retirement due to total humiliation the primary goal?

What about Capt Honors' videos?  They were leaked to the Virginian-Pilot Newspaper and have since gone viral.  Capt Honors has now been relieved of his command over the USS Enterprise and any career advancement in the Navy has been effectively squashed. Is it simply a coincidence that the leaked videos contained "gay slurs" right after the repeal of "Don't Ask - Don't Tell"?  Did Capt Honors step on the wrong toes and this is the "payback"?  It seems that if someone was offended by the videos, they would not wait until 4 years later to make it an issue. Unless this was just the more opportune time to start the dripping.

We'll probably never know the answers to the questions unless the person leaking the information in either case comes forward.  For now it is simply speculation.  But the uproar over the Navy videos seems over the top and truly borders on politically correct insanity.  I've seen much more offensive parodies on Saturday Night Live or even HBO.  Have we just turned into a nation of "offended people"?

Face it - you can't speak your mind without self-censoring yourself. Heaven forbid you might get slapped upside the head with the "intolerant" label or worse yet, have the race card played against you.  It's reached a point where you have to tiptoe around hoping that just your very presence doesn't offend someone. You could end up as the target of an over-zealous media looking for another soul to roast or even get called out by one of the Reverends who make a living on crying "offensive".

The next time someone leaks a video, text or pics, it would be nice if the media would shine the spotlight on the leaker - especially if the event is several years old and doesn't involve an actual crime (had to add that so no one would get on the self-righteous bandwagon). Before we destroy a reputation or career, let's see if there is an ulterior motive behind it.  More often than not, I'm willing to bet there is.

In the meantime, let this be a lesson to all those who think it's cute to photograph one's manly bits or make offensive videos.  If you don't want them to end up on YouTube or the cover of the National Enquirer, keep them to yourself or better yet, hit the delete key.  You'll save yourself a lot of grief later.
